(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist): Four astronauts selected for India’s first manned space mission Gaganyaan have again started training in Russia. Their training was halted due to the coronavirus epidemic. Their training started on 10 February this year.

The Russian Space Corporation Roskosmos said in a statement that the work of retraining Indian astronauts has started from May 12. Preparations have been started by the Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonates Center (GCTC) as per the agreement between the Glavkosmos, JSC (State Space Corporation Roskosmos), and the Human Spaceflight Center of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

However, NASA has also assured to consider applications for those with a bachelor’s degree, military or professional experience. During isolation, these people will study the same psychological and physical effects as astronauts do.
