(Juhi Aishwary, Journalist):  The Supreme Court, on a plea seeking the prohibition on the entry of women into the mosque, against the fundamental right found in the constitution, allowing Muslim women all over the country to enter the mosque and offer Namaz there And has issued notice to others. The petition also sought to quash the fatwa prohibiting Muslim women from entering the mosque.

Supreme Court issues notice to the central government on the petition through video conferencing 

On Wednesday, a bench of Chief Justice SA Bobde, S Bopanna, and Hrishikesh Rai issued notice on the petition after hearing the case through video conferencing. This PIL has been filed by Farah Anwar Hussain Sheikh.

Muslim women demanded court entry

The prohibition of Muslim women entering the mosque is a violation of the fundamental right to equality, life, and religious freedom, ie Articles 14,15,21,25 and 29 of the Constitution. The court should give proper orders regarding the right of Muslim women to live life respectfully.

In the petition, the Central Government, Darul Uloom Deoband, All India Muslim Personal Law Board is parties.

The petitioner has stated that he had sought permission for Namaz at Muhammiya Jamatul Musmilin Jama Masjid in Pune Bopodi on May 1, 2019, but received no response from there. In this petition, besides the Central Government, the President of the National Commission for Women, Maharashtra State Board of Waqf, Central Waqf Council, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Jamiat Ulemae Hind, Darul Uloom Deoband, and Mohammadia Jamatul Musmalin Jama Masjid Bopodi Pune have been made parties.
