The market capitalization of eight of the 10 largest companies in the country in terms of M-Cap decreased by Rs 2,50,825.28 crore last week. TCS, HDFC Bank, and HDFC suffered the most in terms of market-cap last week. Among the top 10 companies, only Reliance Industries Ltd and Bharti Airtel grew their market positions. Last week, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)’s market capitalization fell by Rs 45,535.19 crore to Rs 7, 10,514.04 crores. At the same time, HDFC Bank’s market capitalization declined to Rs 5, 09,430.95 crores with a loss of Rs 39,923.11 crore.

On the other hand, HDFC’s M-cap decreased by Rs 39,386.76 crore to Rs 2, 92,664.08 crore. During this period, ITC saw a decrease of Rs 29,316.97 crore in its market position. The company’s market capitalization stood at Rs 1, 94,586.02 crore. ICICI Bank’s market capitalization decreased by Rs 27,288.27 crore to Rs 2, 18,670.85 crore. At the same time, the market capitalization of Kotak Mahindra Bank declined by Rs 26,457.32 crore to Rs 2,33,132.42 crore.

The market-cap of veteran FMCG company Hindustan Unilever decreased by Rs 25,221.54 crore to Rs 4,90,651.15 crore. At the same time, the market capitalization of Infosys decreased by Rs 17,696.12 crore to Rs 2,87,332.93 crore.

However, in the same period, RIL’s market capitalization rose by Rs 60,081.83 crore to Rs 9, 90,088.02 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market valuation rose by Rs 8,537.95 crore to Rs 2, 89,144.54 crore in the business week ended on Friday.

This time also RIL ranked first in the list of the 10 biggest companies in terms of market valuation. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, HDFC, Airtel, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and ITC.

The BSE Sensex recorded a fall of 2,074.92 points or 6.15 per cent last week.
