New Delhi: Hearing is going on in the Supreme Court regarding the case of Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of Republic TV. He filed a petition to quash a new FIR filed in Mumbai on 2 May. Senior advocate Harish Salve has appeared in court on behalf of Arnab Goswami.
Arnab Goswami approached the Supreme Court to quash the new FIR lodged against him by the Mumbai Police. He requested the court to provide security to his family and employees of the channel and instruct the police not to register any new FIR.
Supreme Court starts examining a petition filed by Republic TV’s Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami for quashing a new FIR registered against him at Mumbai on May 2 concerning a show broadcast on April 14-15. Lawyer Harish Salve is appearing for Arnab Goswami.
Let me tell you that Arnab commented Congress President Sonia Gandhi in a TV program in the case of killing three people including two sadhus in Palghar. While arguing on, Arnab Goswami had asked why Congress President Sonia Gandhi is silent on this incident on this murder. Angry Congressmen had registered more than 100 FIRs across the country.
