Washington D. C. (ANI) (Sandhya Jha Intern Journalist): The US Food and Drug Administration has authorized emergency use of the Remedisvir drug in coronavirus treatment, announced Friday by FDA chief Stephen Hahn.
Hahn said at a White House event that we have authorized a pharmaceutical company (Gilead) to have an emergency use authorization for the use of Remedisvir in hospitalized patients.
US President Donald Trump called Remedisvir a hot thing and said that it is very much needed at this time. Gilead CEO Daniel O’Day announced that the company was donating 1.5 million vials of the drug.
Ode said that we decided to donate about 1.5 million vials of Remedisvir. We will work with the government to determine how to distribute it. Gilead is fully committed to continually expanding the drug supply. O’Day said that Remedisvir clinical trials began immediately when the manufacturer noticed circulating coronavirus (COVID-19).
