(Pooja Pal; Intern Journalist): Mumbai, The head coach of the Indian cricket team, Ravi Shastri, has once again opened his box of memories and this time has taken a picture of Ranji Trophy batsman Amol Muzumdar with him. Ravi Shastri shared an old photo of himself with Amol Mazumdar and wrote that it was India’s loss to Majumdar not playing the Test at the international level.
Shastri, 57, tweeted a photo and wrote that a photo with the legendary Ranji Trophy player – Amul Muzumdar- “My last session was his first. I still feel that Amol Majumdar’s loss of not playing Test cricket was India’s loss.”
Amol Majumdar’s journey in domestic cricket has been fantastic. In his first-class cricket of 20 years, he has scored 11,000 runs which include 30 centuries. Amol also retweeted this picture and called Ravi Shastri his hero.
There was no doubt that Amol Majumdar was a brilliant batsman, but at the time he was playing, there were many other big players like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid in the Indian team and that was probably a big reason why he was in the national team and could not get a chance. After bidding goodbye to his first-class career, Amol tried his hand at coaching and has been the batting coach of the Netherlands and he is also the batting coach of Rajasthan Royals.
